The one that matters most

No score. No rating. No verdict on any party.

A Parakh report is not a credit report, not a credit score or rating, and not legal advice. We offer no opinion on the creditworthiness, honesty or reliability of any business or person.

Credit scoring on a business is reserved for credit information companies registered under the Credit Information Companies (Regulation) Act, 2005. We are not one, we do not hold ourselves out as one, and nothing in a report should be read as one.

What the marks mean

A report marks findings FLAG, CLEAR or NOTE. Each mark describes the finding — one public fact, and how it reads — and never the party.

A report does not add its findings up. There is no total, no count band, no summary verdict. Counting one public fact is a measurement; adding categories together would be a verdict wearing a costume, and that is the line we do not cross.

A report describes a moment, not a business

A report sets out what the sources published, as at the date and time of the search, and it says so on its face. Records may be incomplete, delayed, mis-keyed at the source, or filed under a name that does not match the one you gave us. A filing that has not appeared is not proof that it was never made.

Where the record is silent or the identity is uncertain, we say so rather than guessing. Every report carries a fixed section stating what the search could not find.

Silence is not a clean bill of health

A search that returns nothing adverse is not a statement that there is nothing adverse to find. It means the sources we searched, on the day we searched them, published nothing adverse that we could attribute to that party with confidence. Bank data, private ledgers, unregistered disputes and anything never filed with a registrar are outside what any public-record search can see.

Identity is graded, never certified

Court records are filed against names, not against GSTINs. Matching a name to the party you asked about is a judgement, and we treat it as one: matches are graded, weak ones are set aside rather than listed, and a name too generic to search safely is refused rather than guessed at. We would rather return less than return somebody else's litigation as if it were yours.

The decision is yours

A report is one input to a commercial decision. The decision to extend credit, to trade, or to walk away is yours alone, and so are its consequences. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising out of a check is limited to the fee paid for that check — see the terms.

Do not use a report to harass, threaten, defame or pressure anyone, and do not present it as a credit rating or as a finding of wrongdoing. It is neither.

Specimens

Any specimen report shown on this site or in our material is illustrative. The GSTIN is masked, the firm is not real, and the findings are examples of the kind of thing a search returns.
